Description

A small dam/pond facility exists on Clover Creek upstream 100 m from Gravelly Lake Dr. in the City of Lakewood. The dam originally served as a water retention facility for a waterwheel. The spillway for the dam is a velocity barrier for salmon at some flows. Debris also collects beind the spillway often. This project will remove the existing dam and replace it with a series of steps which will behave as a fish ladder. Design specifications and materials are to exceed a 40-year life. The project has been submitted to this inventory by USEPA with the permission of NOAA. For more information about NOAA or their projects, you can visit either the NOAA homepage at www.noaa.gov or the NOAA Restoration Center at www.nmfs.noaa.gov/habitat/restoration.
