Monitoring Plan: Evaluation of the effectiveness of vegetation growth and fish habitat structures.; Resource Issue: Deepening and channelization of the Sammamish River has caused negative fish and wildlife impacts associated with the loss of riparian and wetland habitat. Passage of salamonid fish to several tributaries was severely restricted or prohibited by the deepening of the channel and lowering of the water level, resulting in the loss of spawning habitat.; Projected Outcomes: Restore stream and provide suitable habitat for salmonid species and other aquatic species. Restore riparian habitat. 2400 feet of channel (20.7acres) will be restored, resulting in increased anadromous fish stocks and other wildlife.; Design Measure: Combination of structural (bank excavation, install log structures, low flow deflectors, and a footbridge) and nonstructural (revegetation) elements at three sites for a total length of approximately 2,400 feet. The proposed plan will create a meandering channel that will provide fish passage and improve spawning and rearing conditions in an unnamed tributary of the Sammamsh River. Also, log sills, log habitat features, an excavation and benching of the left bank, and revegation will be done at 2 other sites.Endangered Species: Bald Eagles, Piping Plover, Arctic Peregrine Falcon.
