Monitoring Plan: Hydrologic and wetland monitoring; Resource Issue: Channelization of Amazon Creek (by the Corps and NRCS) hydrologically isolated the surrounding wetlands, thus the frequent flooding necessary for maintaining wetland habitat was eliminated.; Projected Outcomes: Re-establish hydrology to 181 acres of wetlands adjacent to Amazon Creek and restore native plant communities on 217 of existing upland areas.; Design Measure: Removal of levees along 10,000 linear feet of Amazon channel and other smaller hydraulically connected drainage channels. Channels were graded to a more natural stream configuration, and planted with native plants.
