The Upper Nehalem Watershed Council desires to continue restoration and monitoring activities in the Nehalem Watershed. Funds will be used to cover a portion of the associated costs for the Habitat Restoration jobs program labor, tools, equipment and supplies needed to continue ecosystem work force and volunteer activities associated with riparian restoration and watershed health monitoring. Activities which improve riparian conditions by installing streamside fencing, off channek livestock watering stations, replanting of riparian forests, and applying erosion control measures using bio-engineering techniques to reduce nonpoint souce pollution (thermal & sediment) and increase salmon & wildlife habitat opportunities. In addition we will continue to conduct photo point monitoring and annual inspections to determine project effectiveness. Grant 000451000 Project 27
