Description

The Tillamook Estuaries Partnership, in partnership with the NOAA Restoration Center, replaced an undersized culvert that acted as an upstream barrier to 1.5 miles of native salmonid spawning and rearing habitat. A new oversized culvert simulates a natural stream bottom and rock weirs were installed to proved grade control through the project reach. Smith Creek contains over two miles of spawning and rearing habitat for steelhead and coho salmon.
