Description

This project will inventory soil characteristics, take infield soil moisture measurements, use EPC (erosion/productivity impact calculator) to assist producers with irrigation use, conduct pumping efficiency audits, and help with irrigation scheduling, crop staging, nutrient management, frost level identification, infrared analysis, annual reports and surveys. To save irrigators money, reduce water usage and nutrient leaching. 1. Reduce water use on sprinkler irrigated cropland and reduce leaching of nutrients to groundwater. Maintain instream flows. Reduce irrigation return flows and sedimentation downstream of these returning flows.2. Correlate local nutrient leaching rates to water use. #. Reduce energy use. 4. Organizr Conservation District efforts to administer a permanent AgrMet outreach program. 5. Disseminate AgriMet manual.
