The Two Medicine ¿ Seville watershed area lies in Northwestern Montana and Glacier, Pondera, and Teton counties and includes a major portion of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Resource problems in the watershed include nitrate and pesticide pollution associated with flood irrigation, soluble salt formation and movement (soil salinity), sedimentation caused by water erosion and irrigation induced erosion, wildlife habitat deterioration of wetland and riparian areas, streambank erosion and irrigation induced erosion, wildlife habitat deterioration of wetland and riparian areas, streambank erosion causing increased stream turbidity, range deterioration caused by improper management; decreasing soil productivity, noxious weed infestation, and domestic water problems associated with over irrigation. 1) reduce sedimentation, nitrates, salinity/TDS/chlorides by improving irrigation system and application efficiencies on 75% of the irrigated farms; 2) improve range condition on 25% of rangeland acres; 3) improve riparian and streambank health; and 4) improve wetland health, targeting T&E Species habitat.
