This project is a cooperative effort between Fergus County Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Bureau of Land Management and local landowners to improve livestock management, thereby improving riparian and upland habitat and reducing sediment inputs. Will install fencing and an extensive off-site water system. Will also develop additional non-structural methods of livestock control to serve as a demonstration project. Improve riparian health and stability in Two Calf and Sourdough Creeks: decrease erosion and sedimentation to streams. Improve upland range health by implementing BMP¿s for grazing management. Increase awareness and provide training to landowners in range and riparian health, livestock impact monitoring, alternative methods of livestock control, and grazing BMP¿s.
