Protect, restore, and enhance the Lolo Cr. Watershed to provide quality habitat for anadromous and resident fish

15 miles of fencing to eliminate grazing from 10 miles of stream, allowing riparian habitat to regenerate, reduced stream temperatures and sedimentation, and channel morphology to return to equilibrium. Project to restore stream habitat for anadromous & resident fish. Accomplishments include eliminating grazing from 10 miles of stream, allowing riparian habitat to regenerate, reduced stream temperatures and sedimentation, and channel morphology to return to equilibrium. 50+ miles of roads have been obliterated, reducing risk of mass failures and sedimentation. Heavily eroding stream banks (100 feet) have been stabilized through bioengineering techniques and revegetation. M&E is being completed to analyze the effectiveness of this restoration project.
