Description

The primary objective of this project is to eliminate the juvenile salmonid access problem to the upper reaches of the creek. The replacement of the Duck Creek partial barrier culvert with a bridge accomplishes this. The industrial forest landowner has indicated to the project sponsor that they will be addressing their partial barrier culverts in the near future. The two forest landowner culverts are 1,000 feet and one mile above the Countys barrier culverts. Duck Creek is crucial rearing and spawning habitat for coho salmon, steelhead and sea-run cutthroat. Chum and fall chinook salmon are also present near the mouth of Duck Creek.
