Description

The project objectives include backwatering the culvert owned by Cowlitz County to deepen the water sufficiently to allow juvenile fish to pass. Fencing livestock out of the stream and re-planting with native trees and shrubs, including conifers will improve water quality by providing shade, decreasing fine sediment delivery, nutrients and potentially pathogenic bacteria.
