Description

Preseason salmon escapement estimates were applied to the Tribal Resource Management Plan (TRMP) harvest management frameworks to set population species fishery targets. Adequate harvest levels, curtailment triggers, regulation approval, and submission of Tribal harvest guidelines to NOAA-fisheries and relevant co-managers will be completed prior to the Chinook fishery. The Tribal fishery commenced as planned and was curtailed the beginning of August. Biologists continued to participate in TAC meetings as run updates were released, however these run updates werent drastic enough to warrant a change in the harvest management framework.

Project Benefit

Promote recovery and restoration of ESA-listed salmonids through proper management and cooperation with relavent co-managers in the sub-basin.
