Description

The 2006 (Phase VI) Project reach will consist of approximately 2,750 feet of primary channel development work, and 1,500 feet of side channel modifications and closures. This years work will involve the development of 10 Bio-engineered boulder rip-rap corners, 3 Willow Baffles for bank protection and stabilization and planting approximately 2,000 feet of Willow Walls. Riparian corridor development will entail planting thousands of willows, cottonwoods, alders, poplars, oaks, and other riparian species.

Project Benefit

This years stream restoration effort is the final piece of the stream connection puzzle that connects the two healthy reaches of Mill Creek together that were separated by approximately 2.4 miles of dysfunctional stream habitat. Now the connection is complete and efforts to develop a functional and self-sustaining Riparian Corridor that will serve as the stabilizing force and ecological glue that will hold this project together for years to come!
