Description
This project will continue work initiated through these projects and provide the necessary data to inform future fish management decisions. Development and introduction of locally adapted broodstocks in the Okanogan subbasin will increase genetic diversity and life history, and will contribute to improved survival of naturally produced fish through adaptation to local environmental conditions. In order to adequately evaluate the success of this program, the locally adapted broodstock program will need to be implemented for at least three generations. This project will provide continued funding to operate and maintain the Cassimer Bar hatchery for ESA listed steelhead, consistent with an approved HGMP.
Project Benefit
Contribute to the ability to determine the effectiveness of salmon conservation and recovery efforts and coordinate with regional comprehensive monitoring efforts.
