Lower SLO Creek Floodplain Preserve Steelhead Habitat Enhancement Project

The project will provide design and permitting for habitat restoration opportunities benefiting steelhead on the Land Conservancys Lower SLO Creek Floodplain Preserve properties. The resulting 100% design will include large wood augmentation, expansion of floodplain connectivity through creation of off-channel habitat, and diversification of hydraulic/geomorphic complexity throughout the floodplain. All required permit applications for implementation of selected habitat restoration opportunities will be submitted for review to necessary entities by the end of the project.

The identified habitat restoration opportunities are intended to increase the amount and quality of steelhead juvenile rearing habitat, fry rearing habitat, and winter refuge habitat to support the steelhead population within the SLO Creek watershed.
