Description

This project will implement (permit and construct) a project designed through CDFW WGP Plan/Design contract Q2396022. Construction will remove an existing concrete vehicle ford barrier, which spans the Arroyo Seco River, and replace it on private property, consistent with approved plans (Sycamore Flats).

Project Benefit

Modifying fish passage impediments is a Critical Recovery Action for the Arroyo Seco River (NOAA SCC Steelhead Recovery Plan). The Sycamore Flats concrete ford is the next barrier. The completed project will eliminate a priority migration barrier and improve conditions for federally threatened South Central Coast steelhead trout on the Arroyo Seco River in Monterey County.
