Hydrology to Habitat: Critical Steelhead Restoration Assessments in San Luis Obispo Creek Watershed

The project will collect data and conduct landowner outreach required to identify and advance transformative steelhead habitat restoration projects on SLO Creek and its major tributaries, including fish passage improvements, steelhead rearing habitat enhancement, estuary restoration, and streamflow enhancement. Data will include barrier assessments, engineering barrier analysis, ecologically critical streamflow monitoring, water quality, and steelhead mark and recapture.

SLO Creek is a Core 1 watershed. To protect the steelhead population and reverse the declining population trend into a thriving population, significant habitat restoration must occur. This project will offer watershed-wide landowner support and data collection of critical data gaps to further restoration efforts.
