Description

This project aims to restore 8 acres on the lower Yuba River by introducing complexity to the main channels edge through grading seasonal and perennial habitat features (alcoves, floodrunner, large wood, edge enhancements, and roughness features) designed to meet the biological needs of special status species including fall-/spring-run Chinook salmon and Central Valley steelhead during the rearing period. Planning, permitting, and design work are complete, making this a shovel-ready project.

Project Benefit

The project will improve the productivity, complexity, and diversity of anadromous salmonid juvenile rearing habitat within the Upper Long Bar Project area to support diverse life history strategies, increased growth and survival, and population viability and resiliency.
