Description    


The project will develop a 100%-level fisheries restoration design on 7 miles of Beaver Creek. The project area has ~50 acres of low lying floodplain that is disconnected due to channel constraint. The final design would improve conditions for spawning and rearing fish by proposing: 1) the removal of berms, 2) the creation of side channels and off-channel features, 3) grading floodplain material at strategic locations to widen the channel, and 4) adding instream structures.

Project Benefit    


The projects final design will address water quality, riparian dysfunction, excessive sediment yield, spawning requirements, and rearing requirements (all identified as limiting factors). Beaver Creek has a high Intrinsic Potential and has the capability to provide high-quality rearing and spawning habitat, if restored.
