Description

The Pudding River Watershed Council (PRWC) is the officially recognized, local voluntary organization for the Pudding River Watershed (PRW) in the Molalla-Pudding Subbasin within the Willamette Basin. PRW includes rural and urban communities, e.g., Scotts Mills and Woodburn, in Clackamas and Marion County. Public lands include timberlands managed by the Oregon Department of Forestry and Bureau of Land Management. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department manages the Molalla River State Park and Silver Falls State Park. Municipal parks add to public access, but the PRW is primarily privately managed. Pudding River WC provides a critical link between the public and state/regional conservation objectives. As a non-regulatory, nonprofit public charity, PRWC serves the community by identifying restoration opportunities, planning projects, developing funding proposals, implementing restoration projects, and maintaining positive relationships from the grassroots up to the public representatives. PRWC will continue to monitor natural resource impacts and fish and wildlife populations, develop collaborative partnerships, and plan and implement restoration and enhancement projects. Partners include Clackamas and Marion Soil and Water Conservation Districts, municipal governments, NRCS, tribal nations, other NGOs, USGS, municipalities, and private landowners.

Project Benefit

This capacity grant benefits salmonids by increasing organizational capacity to manage ongoing restoration projects, assess sites for future restoration projects, and develop relationships with landowners and partners to increase opportunities for salmonid habitat work.
