Description

The project will implement the preferred alternative from the 2021 FRGP funded Chamberlain Creek Coho Passage Design Project (CDFW Agreement #Q2010525). This single, poorly-installed and aging road-stream crossing has been identified as a temporal adult barrier and a total juvenile barrier at low flow conditions on Chamberlain Creek, a tributary to North Fork Big River. This project implementation proposal is necessary for the removal of a current fish migration barrier and subsequent road-stream crossing culvert replacement to allow for unimpeded salmonid migration to approximately 1.6mi of prime anadromous habitat in Chamberlain Creek, as well as, stabilization of the downstream slope instability.

Project Benefit

This project will benefit salmonids by upgrading a current fish passage barrier with a new culvert that will allow for unimpeded access to an additional 1.6 miles of spawning and rearing habitat for coho salmon and other salmonids.
