Big Meadow Creek Conceptual Design

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) will develop a conceptual restoration design plan for 3.5 miles of Big Meadow Creek (BMC), a tributary of the West Fork Little Bear Creek (WFLBC) in the Potlatch River watershed. The development of this design plan will utilize currently available data, and additional data collection as needed. The final product will be a conceptual engineering design plan for this entire stream reach, which will be used by IDFG and restoration partners to guide restoration activities in Big Meadow Creek.

The conceptual engineering design plans produced by this project will help guide IDFG and other restoration partners in the development of current, upcoming, and potential future projects in this drainage. Tackling this larger reach with a single conceptual design will

ensure that individual projects meet the restoration objectives for the drainage, that projects can be implemented independently without concerns about adjacent projects not fitting together, and help avoid the potential of redoing previous work to make a new project

successful. This will improve efficiency of project implementation, and result in direct cost savings. Of the 12 landowners on Big Meadow Creek within this project area, four are on board for restoration projects, six have expressed interest in talking further, and two have declined to partner on restoration projects.
