Description

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (State Parks) purchased three properties totaling 267.46 acres with over 4,500 lineal feet of Dosewallips River frontage. These acquisitions protect a large majority of remaining once privately-owned land within the 1,000 foot-wide riparian corridor along the south side of the river with a long-term goal of protecting the entire six-mile corridor from the Park at the mount of the River to the Olympia National Forest boundary.

State Parks proposes to develop an additional three miles of new trail on the 215-acre property purchased from Pope Resources. As required by Governors Order 05-05, State Parks conducted cultural resources investigations on the land subject to ground disturbance (report and DAHP response attached to project in PRISM).
