Tribal Resources Stewardship Initiative

Tribal Resources Stewardship (TRS) staff evaluated and engaged in a number of research and monitoring efforts for Yukon River salmon populations that support cultural and traditional practices within the TCC region.

However, this project was revised by the proposer to fit with their TRS program better and is being entered as 2403B.

It is the mission of the Tanana Chiefs Conferences (TCC) Tribal Resources Stewardship Division (TRS) to honor and protect the land, water, and all living beings entrusted to our care by our ancestors. Guided by sustainable practices, traditional knowledge, and collaborative stewardship, we aim to preserve our natural resources for the well-being of our regional community and Alaska for future generations. To accomplish our mission, TRS will partner with our tribes to holistically empower the next generation of Alaska Native leaders and all tribal members. One of TRS immediate goals is to build infrastructure that enables TRS be become efficient and effective in our efforts to serve our tribes and protect our resources. The funding received through this award will enable TRS to build its infrastructure by helping to employ two full time TRS staff members and to acquire an asset critical to the success of our mission.
