Description
This project is the development of engineered design plans for a large wood (LW) project for a 1.5-mile-long project reach on the Little Van Duzen River. The LW structures will be designed to improve geomorphic function of the stream channel and to deepen pools, increase shelter, and shelter complexity, capture spawning gravels, increase off-channel habitat, and to provide velocity refugia to steelhead. The project will result in a Basis of Designs Report and 100% Design Plans that will be used to build a fish habitat restoration project that meets Coastal Multispecies Plan key piece target value of Good.
Project Benefit
The LW structures will benefit all life stages of steelhead by providing velocity refugia, shelter complexity, increased off-channel access, and improving spawning gravel quality and availability. Funding Details |
