Description

This implementation project will construct CDFW-approved 100% engineered designs for improving in-stream and off-channel salmonid habitat along approximately 1,000 ft. of the Lindsay Creek mainstem channel. Specifically, this project will construct at least 8 instream LWD structures, create one off-channel alcove and 3 inset floodplains, and increase the overall frequency and duration of connectivity with the floodplain adjacent to the mainstem channel.

Project Benefit

Expected benefits include restoration of salmonid habitat by:

* Increasing pool habitat frequency, size, and distribution;

* Creating cover protection;

* Reducing in-channel stream velocities during high flow events;

* Providing temporal improvement of coho and other salmonid habitat by creating off-channel feature(s) to act as high flow refugia.
