This project was the continuation of a long-term monitoring program to assess status and trends of Central California Coast Coho Salmon and Central California Coast Steelhead in the Lagunitas Creek watershed, following methods from the California Monitoring Plan (Adams et al. 2011). Tasks 1-5 were carried out annually and included the completion of spawning ground surveys, DIDSON monitoring, summer juvenile Coho Salmon monitoring, smolt trapping and operation of PIT tag array on Olema Creek, and project management and coordination.
FY20 funds were spent within award window.
Project Benefit
Lagunitas Creek is one of the most stable populations of CCC Coho Salmon near the southern extent of the species range. This project provides important information regarding the different life stages of Coho Salmon and steelhead trout in the watershed. The life cycle monitoring component also provides data vital to discerning restoration effectiveness and can inform ways to further benefit listed salmonids. Accomplishments
