Description

This project involves working with partners at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to monitor the Ocean Ranch Unit in the Eel River estuary post-restoration, where the tidal prism was restored including connectivity to historic sloughs that had been diked and cut-off from the estuary. The Tribe has helped to identify Coho salmon and other species of significance using including Steelhead, Longfin Smelt, Tidewater Goby, and Dungeness Crab. This work will help inform other estuary restoration projects for the benefit of salmonids and other cultural important species.
