Hoh Tribe FY23 Habitat Restoration Planning Project.

This project aims to provide a blueprint for restoring and improving the Hoh River Watershed through the creation of a Hoh Watershed Habitat Restoration Plan. The plan will provide a framework for addressing ecological limiting factors and constraints related to river morphology, riparian vegetation (including invasive species), aquatic habitat, and river stewardship. This project is conceived as a 3-year effort and will support a tribal habitat restoration biologist at half-time to develop the plan.

The Habitat Restoration Plan will guide the restoration and maintenance of Hoh Watershed habitat conditions that support all life stages (migration, occupancy, spawning, incubation, recruitment, and early rearing) of salmon and steelhead; and target restoration projects to boost productivity in a way that supports Tribal treaty fishing rights for the benefit of tribal culture and wellbeing.
