Description

The Whidbey Camano Land Trust successfully acquired the 20-acre Wagner property, as proposed in the application, expanding our Elger Bay Estuary Preserve to 58 acres. This project addresses the highest priority of the WRIA 6 Multi-Species Salmon Recovery Plan: i.e. protection of intact habitats. This protected area provides juvenile salmonid rearing habitat, primarily ESA-listed Chinook salmon.

Project Benefit

Protected 20 acres of tidal estuary, mesic forest and wetland fringe for the benefit of salmon and other listed and non-listed species. Public access not feasible due to wetlands.
