Description

Fifteen instream structures were installed along 0.4 miles of Jordan creek. A total of 59 pieces of LWD were added to the stream channel during the course of this project. The LWD in the structures was configured to improve the quality and quantity of spawning and rearing habitat for salmonids by increasing habitat diversity and availability, improving pool depth and frequency, and by sorting

spawning gravels. PCSRF FY2014 funds were spent within the allowable award period even though the project ended outside the award scope.

Project Benefit

Expected benefits is to supplement on-going efforts to provide short-term and long-term benefits to Coho Salmon by restoring LWD and shade through LWD placement and improvement of existing riparian zones through plantings.
