Description

The project focused on training and education of CCC staff and corpsmembers about steelhead life history, riparian and upland ecology, and instream restoration and habitat improvements techniques. The grantee also engaged in restoration and outreach endeavors from Santa Barbara County to the Santa Monica Mountains. The grantee hosted outreach events in 2018 and 2019. Grantee FHS and FSCM participated in training courses and workshops for ecological surveys and steelhead related projects. A small portion of project tasks focused on planning and assessment for watershed council support. All FY13 funds were spent within the appropriate award window.

Project Benefit

To identify and develop southern steelhead habitat improvement projects; to develop partnerships with local non-profits, municipalities, other state and federal agencies and to educate Corpmembers and the local communities on how they can assist with the recovery of steelhead in southern California coastal watersheds from Santa Barbara County to Los Angeles County.
