Description

The Grantee implement the Steelhead Abundance Monitoring in the Santa Monica Bay 2017-2019. The purpose of this project is to provide Viable Salmonid Population (VSP) abundance and spatial distribution status and trend data by continuing snorkel and redd surveys in Arroyo Sequit, Malibu Creek and Topanga Creek to complement on-going lifecycle and DIDSON camera monitoring throughout the Santa Monica Bay.

Project Benefit

The objective of this project is to continue the ongoing snorkel/redd monitoring to document abundance and spatial structure status and trends in Arroyo, Malibu and Topanga Creeks to provides data necessary to address regionally significant questions identified by the Coastal Monitoring Program and Viable Salmonid Population parameters (Adams et al. 2011).Implementation of Steelhead Abundance Monitoring in the Santa Monic Bay 2017-19.
