Description
The project will maintain a population of approximately 380 Coho Salmon of each brood year throughout the grant period. This program will ensure that mature Coho Salmon will be available for hatchery propagation, thus preventing extirpation of Coho Salmon south of San Francisco. The specific objectives are to select approximately 380 YOY Coho Salmon for captive rearing, raise the 380 Coho Salmon to maturity, and return mature Coho Salmon to conservation hatcheries for spawning.
Project Benefit
The principal objective of this project is to enhance the viability of Central California Coast Coho Salmon populations in the Santa Cruz Mountains Diversity Stratum. Accomplishments
