Description    


A total of 37 habitat features consisting of 94 pieces of large wood were installed in 0.82 miles of Hare Creek. A total of 34 habitat features consisting of 74 pieces of large wood were installed in 0.94 miles of Bunker Gulch. This project was completed over 2 seasons in coordination with a road decommissioning project, using multiple labor crews during the 1st season. Coordinating implementation of the projects improved efficiency and access for hand labor CCC crews. The projects were allowed to begin earlier than anticipated due to recent timber harvests. This allowed the project to be completed early.

Project Benefit    


The addition of these structures will enhance spawning and rearing habitats by providing cover, increasing pool depth, frequency and complexity, sorting and collecting spawning gravels, and by providing velocity refuge during peak winter flows for juvenile salmonids and migrating adult salmonids.
