Description    


Grantee operated Dual Frequency Identification Sonar (DIDSON) fixed counting stations in three core one systems to provide adult steelhead abundance estimates. Grantee Completed redd surveysin the Ventura River and Carpinteria Creek watersheds. Grantee completed deliverables including reports detailing efforts and data associated with project completion. PCSRF FY2015 funds were spent within the appropriate award window.

Project Benefit    


This project continues southern California steelhead monitoring efforts essential to meeting data requirements outlined in Fish Bulletin 180. This proposal fulfills tasks consistent with California Monitoring Program goals. Specifically, work will address adult abundance and adult spatial structure in three high priority systems for steelhead recovery, Santa Ynez River, Carpinteria Creek, and Ventura River, as well as operation of a life cycle monitoring (LCM) station in the Ventura River.
