Description

The objective of this project is to remove two fish passage barriers located on Dakota Creek tributaries in northwest Whatcom County. Two barrier culverts will be replaced on the Ruhl property using the WDFW no-slope design option. The project will improve passage for coho salmon, Steelhead, and resident and sea-run cutthroat to 1.5 miles of upstream spawning and rearing habitat.

Project Benefit

The goal of the project is to connect isolated habitat to increase the range and distribution of salmon.

The objective of the project is to increase access to areas blocked by human-caused impediments.
