This project provided information on salmonid recolonization of the White Salmon River by use of a rotary screw trap in spring 2017. The 2013 ESA Recovery Plan set abundance goals for fall and spring Chinook, coho, chum, and steelhead. The Recovery Plan called for extensive monitoring after dam removal as a key action to the successful implementation of the plan. Monitoring was been planned and coordinated through the multi-agency White Salmon Tech Working Group. The project was a partnership between Mid-Columbia Fisheries and US Geological Survey. A USGS open file research report was drafted as a result of this grant, entitled Juvenile Salmonid Monitoring in the White Salmon River Subbasin, Washington, Following Removal of Condit Dam; 2017. The report includes background, methods, discussion, and results of the rotary screw trap monitoring funded by Salmon Recovery Funding Board and electrofishing funding by the Clark Skamania Fly Fishers. A draft report is uploaded in PRISM.
