Description
In 2023, Great Land Trust (GLT) completed two land conservation projects, the Tazlina Project and the Bookey Project, permanently protecting a total of 196.52 acres and 1.53 miles of river corridor. The protected land and river corridor include priority salmon migration habitat and subsistence harvesting sites at the Tazlina project and priority salmon migration, spawning, rearing, and overwintering habitat at the Bookey project.
This project utilized funds from PCSRF grant NA17NMF4380170; no funds from this grant were used past its end date.
Project Benefit
This project will permanently protect approximately 500 acres of priority habitat to support spawning, overwintering, and/or rearing Chinook, coho, sockeye, chum, and pink salmon and/or steelhead trout populations. Priority parcels include those that support subsistence fisheries and are in danger of development. Accomplishments
