Description

Pacific Coast Salmon Recovery Funds (PCSRF) are essential to the Quinault Indian Nation to fund activities of the Quinault Department of Fisheries (QDFi) as directed by the Salmon Restoration Initiative (QIN 2008). The funds will be used by QDFi to 1) survey and characterize baseline conditions of instream and riparian habitats, 2) develop a preliminary (30% level) instream large wood debris installation design plan, and 3) develop a riparian treatment design plan for Mounts Creek, a low-gradient tributary stream in the Lower Quinault River watershed. QDFi staff and/or consultants would complete the project.

Project Benefit

The overall goal of QIN is to restore natural habitat forming processes in tributary stream corridors that support naturally sustainable and harvestable salmon populations. The project will apply a reach-scale survey and design approach to develop instream and riparian restoration design plans for future implementation.
