Description

The Grantee’s Steelhead Summit and Water Conservation workshop provided technical assistance and education to landowners, county and city employees, contractors, local watershed groups and other restoration practitioners including water conservation and coastal monitoring to assist in steelhead recovery planning. This project addressed several needs identified in the updated 2012 Steelhead Recovery task list for the Ventura watershed including encouraging fish passage, estuary and riparian corridor restoration, and improving instream habitat function.

Project Benefit

The goal of the summit and workshop would address the NMFS’s Recovery task SC-17-400-02 -Technical education regarding the restoration and recovery of southern California Steelhead by coordinating and producing this professional training (Steelhead Summit and the water conservation and water rights workshop) to address South Coast regional needs for technical education
