Description

Provided tribal coordination with Upper Columbia River anadromous fish recovery processes, participated in watershed planning, and in other regional salmon and steelhead recovery forums utilizing FY17 funding. Provided senior level scientific support, development, guidance and implementation of key ESA recovery initiatives in the Okanogan subbasin utilizing FY17 funding. The project was extended to January 30, 2020.

Project Benefit

Contributed to an increase in tribal capacity to coordinate with regional salmon recovery efforts, and to develop and implement various watershed and subbasin plans utilizing FY17 funding. Key staff infrastructure ensured that core recovery projects were adequately funded, implemented, and monitored. Staff infrastructure identified cost-sharing opportunities that leveraged adequate funding. This project was necessary to implementing priority habitat actions for ESA-listed salmonids (Priority 1).
