Description

All of the following work was conducted along a 0.85 miles stretch of the R-16 road. 0.56 miles decommissioned in 2016, including stream crossing and landslide sites. 4,772 cubic yards of sediment were prevented from entering the stream. In 2017, 0.29 miles of road were decommissioned, including 7 stream crossings and 1 landslide site - saving 3,224 cubic yards of sediment from the stream.

A total of 0.85 miles of road were decommissioned, including 25 sediment elivery features, 18 stream crossings, and 7 potential fillslope failures. This will prevent 8,000 cubic yards of material from being delivered into East Fork Ryan Creek.

Project Benefit

Prescribed remedial treatments will prevent fill failures, stream crossing washouts and stream diversions. As a result, further degradation of water quality and salmonid habitat in the East Fork Ryan Creek watershed will be reduced.
