Description

The project was designed in accordance with Fish Bulletin 180 to collect data pertaining to O. mykiss abundance, spatial structure, and productivity in a high priority watershed (Core 1; NMFS 2012). The following tasks were accomplished: (1) designed and operated a stationary passive integrated transponder (PIT) antenna array at important locations within the watershed; (2) sampled streams to estimate the abundance and PIT tag juvenile O. mykiss populations; (3) collected data to assess O. mykiss habitat availability and use; and (4) examined fine-scale O. mykiss movement using a portable PIT detection device.

Project Benefit

Population abundance will help determine future project management decisions.
