Description
This project repladced the culvert blocking fish passage in the outlet stream of Congahbuna Lake and permanently removed two culverts on an adjacent forest road that were impediments to fish passage. The former system is catalogued for two stream miles and two lake miles of rearing coho and spawning pink salmon habitat upstream to the culvert, and the two culvert removals each provided access to two miles of coho habitat.
This project utilized funds from PCSRF grant NA16NMF4380235; no funds from this grant were used beyond June 30, 2018.
Project Benefit
Replacement of the culvert below Congahbuna Lake will improve fish passage to two stream course miles, two lake miles, and additional habitat upstream of Congahbuna Lake to a smaller lake above. The culvert removals on roads SOA1054 and SOA1063 will restore fish passage to four miles of salmon habitat. Accomplishments
