Description

Developed design plans to create inset floodplain terraces in the incised stream channel, widen the riparian corridor, stabilize eroding stream banks, increase the density and complexity of LWD, and enhance existing side-channels features. FY2012 funds were spent prior to its expiration.

Project Benefit

The floodplain and instream habitat enhancement project will add value to the Roy’s Pools project by extending enhanced spawning and rearing habitats an additional 800 linear feet upstream of the Roy’s Pools project limit. The total project area encompassed 0.9 acres.

Description and scope of the plan implemented
The purpose of recovery plans is to provide a road map that focuses and prioritizes threat abatement and restoration actions necessary to recover, and eventually delist, a species. This project's objective coincides with task# LaC-CCC_4.2.2.1: Develop floodplain enhancement and LWD projects in modified and incised channel areas of major tributaries including San Geronimo Creek.
