Description
11 Features installed consisting of a total of 181 Logs and 70 root wads for a total of 251 LWD pieces. 17,051 feet of stream treated with 112,832 square feet in treatments within the bankfull. No treatments at Dry Creek and Upper Robinson sites due to landowner backing out. Funds from the two non-implemented sites were dispersed amongst the other worksites.
Project Benefit
Improve spawning and rearing habitat for coho salmon and steelhead trout by increasing habitat diversity, in sections of the North Fork Gualala River, Little North Fork Gualala River, Doty Creek, Robinson Creek, McGann Creek and Dry Creek, tributaries to the Gualala River in Mendocino County. The objective is to improve the quality and quantity of salmonid habitat by placing large wood structures instream to increase pool habitat, provide holding habitat for migrating salmonids, and sort and collect spawning gravels.
