Description    


Replaced the 4,250-foot trapezoidal flood control channel (25 year storm flow capacity) on San Jose Creek with a 100 year storm flow capacity channel with vertical walls and an articulated concrete revetment bottom; an internal fish passage channel in flood channel was installed with 40 weirs installed staggeredly every 100 feet creating 30 pools; removed barrier and 3.24 miles of stream length was made accessible to Steelhead migration by modifying blockage; 0.8 miles of overall stream length treated. Trees were planted to mitigate trees removed. 4250 feet of aquatic habitat disturbed.

Project Benefit    


To facilitate fish passage of steelhead salmon to their historical habitat and spawning grounds as part of a flood control capacity improvement project.
