Description
Identified 225 man made stream crossing features along 40 miles of railroad that could contribute sediment. Identified features included stream crossings, ditch relief culverts, road drainage discharge points, springs, landslides, and eroding banks. Future prevention solution treatments were provided for 162 of those features. 10 stream crossings were identified as possible barriers, 4 of those were determined to occur on fish barring streams and analyzed for passage at different flows.
Project Benefit
Conduct a complete sediment source and fish passage inventory and assessment of the Skunk Train Rail Line, which runs from Fort Bragg to Willits, and provide detailed costs and comparisons for fish passage.
