Information System

This project improved data management within the the Salmon Habitat Condition Assessment system by funding module development that: 1) could monitor development projects and evaluate compliance of permitting; 2) develop information syntheses and information sharing systems related to land/water uses; and 3) identify location and type of important spawning/rearing/migration habitats for salmon.

The products from this project will deliver user friendly tools to the overall information system and will assist the overall task of implementing the system to end users in a more timely manner. The project will also work toward ensuring that relevant permit review comments are captured and documented into the system, which in turn makes them readily retrievable to others. Additionally, this project will provide additional data sources to the overall system, which in turn will allow for more comprehensive assessments of salmon habitat across Southeast Alaska as well as make the data readily available to others across the Web.
